2022 / Skopje, Macedonia
The Skopje edition restored overseas ICOM energy with monumental public art, Balkan logistics, and enough civic oddness for a respectable field file.
2018 / Baku and Ganja, Azerbaijan
The Azerbaijan edition: Baku, Ganja, Flame Towers, Caspian oddness, plov, oil-bath mythology, and a destination name that did not require much help.
2016 / Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan brought the delegation into Central Asia: Astana futurism, Almaty mountains, long distances, and the possibility that the route itself was the point.
2014 / St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia
The Russia edition joined St. Petersburg and Moscow into one heavy, grand, politically complicated chapter of the canon.
